Graduate Students

Katharine Hubert

khubert@wisc.edu

Twitter: @cripple_vs_stem

Kat’s research focuses on elucidating the role of Hox11 genes in fracture repair using an in vivo fracture model, in combination with RNA-single cell sequencing, to uncover candidate downstream targets of Hox11 genes. Outside of lab, she likes to travel, make music (percussionist and future theremin player) , take pictures, compose, and spend time with her cats!

Post-Bacc Research Technicians

Julia M Kuetemeyer

jkuetemeyer@wisc.edu

Julia is a post—bacc research technician in the Wellik lab working on Hox5 and its role in lung development. Outside of the lab Julia enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time at the Memorial Terrace!

Jessica Magalski

jmagalski@wisc.edu

Jessica is a post-bacc research intern investigating how Hox11 contributes to muscle maintenance and development. Outside of lab, she likes to travel, spend time with her dogs, and drink coffee.

 Undergraduates

Emma Jean Daniels

ejdaniels3@wisc.edu

Emma is studying genetics and 3D art. She is working to understand the role of Hox11 in skeletal stem/progenitor cell differentiation. Outside of lab, Emma enjoys spending time outside, hiking, music, and art.

Celina Lopez

cllopez4@wisc.edu

Celina is studying genetics, with an interest in Pharm-Tox. She is working to understand the role of Hox11 in fracture repair. Outside of the lab, Celina enjoys bodybuilding, cooking, hiking mountains, plants, and her pet cat.

Laura Hyde

lahyde@wisc.edu

Laura is studying Neurobiology and Gender and Women’s Studies. Outside the lab, she enjoys distance running, listening to live music, and spending lots of time outdoors.

Musab Mohamed
